Warm Digits Live + Workshop
4:30Pm - 7pm, Friday 15th February, Cobalt
Set to be a sensory explosion for the eyes, ears and mind this very special dynamite early evening gig will have you and your little ones spinning with delight. The event will have more sensory stimulation than you can throw a stick at, think bubbles, lights and ear bending music.
Warm Digits are a duo from Manchester and Newcastle, making instrumental electronic music with live drums and guitars. Their acclaimed multi sensory live shows and two albums have made them one of the Newcastle's top underground bands, and won celebrity endorsements from the likes of Andrew Weatherall and Bernard Butler, as well as BBC 6music. About the MAPS Festival show, they say:
"We hope our music makes you want to jump up and down, and makes your eyes and ears feel fizzy. At our gigs, Steve likes making lots of noise with his guitar and Andrew plays the drums as if he's got six arms. We are very excited about playing in front of some small people."
The gig will be preceded by a filmmaking workshop facilitated by Newcastle's FilmBee Collective (workshop included in the price).
Join us for a unique, messy and immersive filmmaking experience with Newcastle Film Collective FilmBee. Mat Fleming will be holding a filmmaking drop-in workshop with assistance of the Chalk team. The workshops are aimed at children 3 years + and their grown-ups to come and get reel-y creative. We will be scratching, staining and painting 16mm film to create some magical, mind blowing, abstract visuals that will be projected live at the Warm Digits gig.
Filmmaking workshop from 4:15pm -5:15pm
